At the foot of the Harz National Park, we invited on behalf of BOS.QT chair Prof. Stephan Reitzenstein our BOS.QT PhD students, members of our junior and senior faculty such as researchers from the BERLIN QUANTUM (BQ) initiative and with Anja Herwig, a special guest from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin to our first Hüttenseminar.
The event was designed to promote an exchange of knowledge and to foster networking within the graduate school and beyond into the ecosystem of BERLIN QUANTUM.
The seminar began with a talk of the newly admitted member of the junior faculty, Dr. Francesco Petiziol, leader of the Emmy Noether Junior Group „Theory of Controlled Quantum Many-Body Systems at Technische Universität Berlin, followed by presentations on both days of BOS.QT PhD students: Robert Behrends (TU Berlin), Maarten van der Hoeven (HU Berlin), Jonas Woeste (TU Berlin/DLR), Shachi Machchhar (TU Berlin) and the BERLIN QUANTUM Fellows: Dr. Francesco Petiziol (TU Berlin), Dr. Maria Vittoria Gurrieri (HU Berlin), Dr. Alessandro de Vita (TU Berlin, Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society), Dr. Johannes Piotrowski (HU Berlin) and Dr. Zhuo-Yo Xian (FU Berlin).
To complement our program and at the request of our doctoral students, we invited Anja Herwig from the research data management team from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin for a workshop and to introduce some useful tools to document research in the right way.
Last but not least, a visit to the famous Wernigerode Castle was of course a must.
